COMPOSTING YOUR LOCKS

Human hair has a high nitrogen content making it a good “Green”, it also contains hydrogen, oxygen, carbon and sulphur just like Bone meal. Modern studies have shown that waste human hair from hair salons mixed with compost is a good source of plant nutrients. So rather than employ a waste management company to collect the hair and transport it to a central point which could be hundreds of miles away, (which could be seen as counterproductive) - We are yet again thinking outside the recycle bin and keeping it local. In fact we couldn’t get any more local, that’s right following a visit to us, your trimmed locks will be collected and walked 5 minutes away to a field onsite and added to a compost heap where it will convert itself organically into a nutritious fertiliser.
